Snack and Lunch:
We provide morning and afternoon snack in accordance with Canadian Food Guidelines.
Parents are responsible for bringing lunches. Please ensure your child’s lunch has 3 food groups (refer to Canadian Food Guides) and healthy choices. Please visit Manitoba.ca/healthlyliving/foodinchildcare for more information on healthy choices.
We offer a peanut awareness snack if there is no nut allergy, and for added safety we will not serve food with known peanut products to children less than 3 years of age.

Hand Washing & Health Practices:
Diseases can spread to any place where children interact. The best way to control the spread of disease is through good health practices. To reduce the spread of communicable disease or illness we will follow the Infection Control Guidelines for Early Learning and Child Care for hand washing, cleaning, and sanitizing.
Infants
Infants will be assisted with their bottle feedings until they can comfortably feed themselves. Infants are not left alone with their bottles.

All staff have Emergency First Aid/CPR Level C, valid criminal records & child abuse registry checks. We have a First Aid kit which we usually take in our backpack while going outside. There are 3 smoke detectors, located on each floor and carbon monoxide detectors located on the main floor and basement. A fire extinguisher is located near the kitchen in the main floor and basement, it is checked regularly and service yearly. We have emergency exits. Once a month we practice evacuation drills (regulation). Our emergency shelter address is 235 Stan Bailie Drive.

Incident/Accident Reporting
Children are active and curious. It is not uncommon for young children to experience cuts, scrapes, and bruises while running, jumping, and playing. Our staff hold valid certification in Standard First Aid and child CPR and have been trained in emergency procedures. Anytime your child has an accident, a record of the details on the Incident Notification for Parent form will be written, and you will be requested to read and sign the incident report.
