How It All Started
Adorable Childcare began as a dream—one rooted in passion, dedication, and the firm belief that every child deserves a nurturing and supportive environment to thrive. On January 3, 2019, that dream became reality when our doors officially opened. Just a few months later, on March 25, 2019, we proudly received our license from Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
In the beginning, we relied on simple yet heartfelt advertising—flyers distributed throughout the community, outreach via social media, and personal visits to nearby schools. Through these efforts, Khadijat cultivated an initial group of families who entrusted us with their children’s care. Many of them remain a cherished part of the Adorable Family Child Care today. Her reputation as a responsive caregiver, someone who places children’s best interests first and works passionately alongside families, quickly solidified Adorable Childcare as an invaluable asset to the community.
As demand grew, so did our vision. Families seeking more childcare spots led to Adorable Childcare’s expansion, evolving into Adorable Group Family Child Care. Yet, even as our community flourished, the challenge of limited childcare spaces persisted. Parents needed reassurance—their children deserved safe, quality care while they worked, enabling them to be productive and fully present in their careers.
Listening to the calls of countless families, we took the next step in our journey. Our upcoming move to a larger, more spacious facility at 1201 & 1205 Manahan Avenue, Winnipeg will allow us to serve even more families, providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality childcare programs with the help of our dedicated team of professional Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Child Care Assistants (CCAs).
At the heart of Adorable Childcare is Khadijat, a lifelong advocate for early childhood education. With more than 15 years of experience as an elementary school teacher in her home country, she brought her expertise and passion to Manitoba in 2012, dedicating herself to working with young children and families. Her credentials speak to her unwavering commitment—she holds a Child Development Studies degree with a major in Child Care Administration from the University of Winnipeg and has earned her ECE III certification.
Our Foundation & Leadership
Adorable Childcare operates as a not-for-profit corporation, led by an experienced Executive Director whose journey in education began decades ago. She earned a National Certificate in Education (1999) and a Bachelor of Education in Guidance and Counselling (2003) before pursuing her Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Red River College, Winnipeg, graduating in 2014. She served as an Early Childhood Educator at Manitoba’s largest child care provider for over five years before ultimately founding Adorable Family Child Care.
With deep roots in early childhood education and an unwavering commitment to building a strong foundation for families, Adorable Childcare continues to grow—serving our community, empowering parents, and nurturing the youngest minds with care, expertise, and heart.
